Room for curiosity.
An independent lab for small experiments with connected systems.
A place to think with graphs.
Nodefield Lab is an independent experimental software project about graph algorithms, network topology, and mathematical exploration. It makes a small set of ideas tangible: a path, a traversal, a component, a node’s place in a network.
The aim is understanding. Change a weight and see a route change. Remove a bridge and watch one component become two. A useful experiment does not have to be large to reveal something.
Deliberately small. Fully inspectable.
The tools work with simple, undirected graphs and nonnegative weights. They run entirely in your browser. There is no account system, backend service, analytics tracker, or data upload. Graph edits stay on this device when browser storage is available; JSON files let you take your experiments with you.
This is an educational workspace, not a simulator for production infrastructure. The graph limit of 150 nodes and 600 edges keeps the visualizations readable and the browser responsive. Network layouts illustrate connectivity; the distances between drawn nodes do not represent edge costs.
Built on solid foundations.
The site uses Astro, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Cytoscape.js. Pages are generated as static files; interactive calculations happen locally. The algorithm implementations favor explicit, understandable steps over the most sophisticated optimization.
